The Kiluni app on a phone: overview of the worlds with cards for Junge Götter, Funkelnacht and Pfoten-Detektei.

What Kiluni does

One companion, many worlds.

Kiluni does not start with an empty input line. Children pick a character that guides them through topics, and find stories, games and answers there.

Companions and worlds

The child picks a character to guide them through the app. Every world brings its own characters, its own content and its own questions, from mythology to music to nature.

Stories and read-aloud

Stories emerge in conversation and can be read aloud. As a rule, the read-aloud voices run on our own servers.

Learning games

Games and tools to make things yourself: mini golf, your own zoo, an AI factory. Along the way, children learn how the technology behind it works.

Speaking instead of typing

Children who cannot write fluently yet simply speak. The companion answers by voice on request. The microphone stays locked until you release it.

Showing a drawing

Children can show a picture and talk about it once the camera has been released. Without that release, the camera stays off.

Parents area

Permissions, time rules, retention and deletion in one place, protected behind a task for adults.

From the app

This is what Kiluni looks like.

Screenshots from the current build. Content and companions keep growing, the principles stay.

  • Screenshot of the worlds in Kiluni with cards for Junge Götter, Funkelnacht and Pfoten-Detektei.

Worlds with their own characters and topics.

  • Screenshot of the companion selection in Kiluni with characters such as Nina, Suppi, Nox and Athene.

Companions to choose from. The child decides who comes along.

  • Screenshot of a conversation in Kiluni with the note that the companion is a computer friend, and with voice input.

Every conversation says that the companion is a computer friend and does not get everything right.

  • Screenshot of the games and tools area in Kiluni with mini golf, AI factory and my zoo.

Games and tools to make things yourself, sorted by category.

  • Screenshot of the news area in Kiluni with articles about space and animals.

News, prepared for children and sorted by topic.

Safety principles

Six points to hold us to.

Kiluni is built for children, so stricter rules apply than for an ordinary app. These six points are not a statement of intent, they are the default setting.

No account, no password

Your child does not register. There are no child credentials that could be lost or passed on.

The age stays on the device

You confirm the age during setup. A date of birth is never transferred to our servers.

Conversations delete themselves

After 90 days, conversation histories are deleted automatically. Anyone who wants to keep them switches that automation off explicitly.

Permissions are off by default

Microphone, camera and notifications stay off until you release them in the parents area. Each release can be revoked there individually.

No advertising, no tracking

Kiluni contains no third-party advertising and no advertising or marketing analytics services. We do not sell data and we do not build advertising profiles.

The AI runs with us

We operate the language models that answer your child ourselves, on our own servers in Berlin. Conversation content is not passed to external AI providers.

Hosting, database and the real-time voice connection stay in the EU. Individual services outside the EU, for notifications and subscription management, are named in the privacy policy for the app.

Privacy policy for the app

Parents area

The moment when adults decide.

Setup deliberately runs through an adult. What applies afterwards can be changed at any time in the parents area, which sits behind a task for adults.

The parent moment during setup
An adult identifies themselves through a task, sees what the child entered, confirms the age and grants the permissions.
Consent, recorded traceably
Time, method of confirmation, confirmed age and the version of the privacy policy are recorded by the app on the device.
Permissions revocable at any time
Microphone, camera and notifications can be granted individually and withdrawn individually.
Retention you choose
Automatic deletion after 90 days is the default. On request, histories stay until you delete them.

What Kiluni is not

Just as important as what the app does.

  • Not a substitute for friendship

The companion is marked in the conversation as a computer friend, not as a human. It replaces neither friends nor parents.

  • Not a therapist

Kiluni gives no medical, psychological or therapeutic advice. Serious matters belong with adults, not with an app.

  • Not a screen-time magnet

Kiluni is not built to hold children as long as possible. There is no endless feed and no pressure to return every day. You set the time rules.

  • Not an advertising platform

No third-party advertising, no product placement, no sharing of data with ad networks.

  • No profiling

We do not build personality or advertising profiles of children. Conversations are processed to answer, not to assess.

How it works

Ready in three steps.

  1. 1

    Install

Download Kiluni from the App Store or Google Play. Plan a few minutes together for the setup.

  2. 2

    Set it up together

An adult identifies themselves, confirms the child age and decides what is released: microphone, camera, notifications.

  3. 3

    Get going

The child picks a companion and starts. You can change permissions, time rules and retention at any time in the parents area.

Pricing

Free during the introductory phase.

Kiluni is fully usable free of charge at launch. A premium offer is in preparation. As soon as it is available, the price will be stated here and in the parents area before anything can be booked.

Purchases run exclusively through the App Store and Google Play and are only possible in the parents area. We never see payment data.

No advertising. No in-app purchases made by children.

Frequent questions

What parents ask first.

What age is Kiluni made for?

+

For children aged 4 and up. The app is set up by an adult who confirms the age and grants the permissions.

Does my child need an account?

+

No. Kiluni works without the child registering, without a password and without an email address for the child.

Does Kiluni contain advertising?

+

No. There is no third-party advertising and there are no advertising trackers. We do not sell data and do not create advertising profiles.

Where do the AI models run?

+

On our own servers in Berlin. Conversation content is processed there and not passed to external AI providers. Hosting, database and the real-time voice connection stay in the EU.

Is there a third-party chatbot behind Kiluni?

+

No. Kiluni uses its own models and its own moderation on its own infrastructure, tuned for children. In the conversation, the companion is visibly marked as a computer friend.

How long are conversations stored?

+

By default 90 days, after which they are deleted automatically. That automation can be switched off in the parents area. Deleted histories are fully removed from our servers no later than 14 days afterwards.

What can parents see and set?

+

The parents area sits behind a task for adults. There you manage the permissions for microphone, camera and notifications, the time rules, the retention of histories and the deletion of the profile.

How do I delete my child data?

+

In the parents area via „Profil löschen“. After a 14-day recovery period the data is removed permanently. Alternatively, an email to privacy@hillcrownai.com is enough.
